4K Samsung NX 1 now available for pre-order

Thanks for the links! Day footage looks great...low light...not so much in my opinion...detail is there, but there is a lot of macroblocking in the shadows and that is worst than the usual noise...I hope its a youtube or a bad conversion thing. I guess its still early to judge...

We also have take into account the conversion of H265 to whatever it is converted to and with what program. That is a gray area at this moment.

Yes I agree! We ll see...until Christmas we should have a much better view of what that thing can really do...:-)

So, with the camera due to be shipping soon, the third party videos aren't going to be as useful ... until then though, here's one more.

PS. Various rumor site report Samsung coming out with a bunch of lenses in 2015, including 16-80mm F4 OIS and 11-24 F2.8 MM OIS.

And how about that hat?

My maternal grandfather had one like that in the "old country" ... no idea when he bought it though ... off dated b&w photos, he had it in the early 1950's.

Lol! And I am sure there was no moire or aliasing on the B&W photos either! Cheers!

No details in the blacks whatsoever. That said, shooting dark overcoats at night with street lamps/store lights nearby will challenge any cameras. A different videographer might have made different choices.

A quicky/quirky ISO photo test was just uploaded on YouTube. With a little work in post, it seems like even ISO6400 can be usable.

Ok...sorry about that, it was interesting to me though...

I think Samsung is doing some very interesting things. Just thought this last Reid clip was pretty awful, when it came to color in particular, and feel it's only a question of his settings, not an indictment of the camera.

It's become obvious to me that lots of people will never be pleased with the offerings of todays modern digital camera. So I suggest to those very people to just give up and stop making images or plop down the cash for an Alexa.

Where do you find inspiration for these platitudes?
