Depends on your shooting style. If you are comfortable with adding a recorder to the camera and moving around with it then it should be fine. If it was me I would get a a7rII, It's a great stills camera and a big upgrade all around from the a7s. Not as light sensitive but still holds it's own. Color science is MUCH better.

Thanks Erik!, as light as possible is my way, usually I shot run&gun docs and external devices are not best option. I´ve a Pix240 and I love it !! adds E5, seems good and less investment vs a7rII new body.
Dilemma.

Oh. I missunderstood. I thought you were deciding to buy the a7rii instead of buying a recorder for 4K. Well if a client wants 4K you know what to do.....

If you're shooting run and gun the a7rII is a great choice. The IBIS really helps to minimize the jitters you get handholding the a7s and you can use aps-c lenses if you want to go small and light. The AF is vastly superior to the a7s as well. I haven't used mine at all since getting the a7rII, I just can't bring myself to sell it though.
