Ive seen posts where the read requirements of disk drives have been posted, but i cant for the life of me search them out with google or the forum button.

Can anyone post the drive speed requirements or a link to where they can be found?

4k DNG RAW? What kind of 4K?

DNG is

4096pix * 2160pix / 8bpB * 12bpp * 24fps = 318.5MBps

Plus audio so you're going to want at least sustained 350MBps reads

Prores HQ 422 is 220 Mbps
Prores 4444 is 330 Mbps
ProRes 4444 XQ is 500 Mbps

Since this is a compression codec, the bitrates don't change. So, one might expect 1920x1080 is 2M pixels and 4096x2160 is ~9M pixels, the compression at the same bitrate is 4x as great. So, the relevant question is how fast a processor is needed to playback 4K Prores?

Well actually the per second and per frame bitrates change depending on frame size or frame rate, but the per pixel bitrate does not change. Those bitrates are for 30p, the bitrates for 24p are 20% lower, and as you mentioned the 4K bitrates are 4x the size. I usually go by about 25MBps for Prores HD, so 4K is around 100MBps.
