FS5: 4K 60p via firmware upgrade?

If I'm not wrong, the Fs5 is capable of outputting short burst of 4K 120p to a compatible Raw recorder (such as the Odyssey 7Q+).
Since it uses its internal buffer memory to store such a large amount of 12bit raw data, I wonder if it would be possible to use the same memory to record 4K (8bit 4:2:0 video) internally in short burst at 60p (like 60 seconds at 24p frame rate).

Do you think it makes sense?

You would probably have issues with the SD cards not able to handle the 600mb/s data stream. Short bursts would probably be possible, but Sony spec'd the FS5 very carefully. Idk.

Why 600mb/s?
Internal 4k video is stored at 100mb/s at 30p. At 60p data rate for internal recording should be higher but not 6x

If you want 4K60p get an Odyssey7Q+ and then you can shoot it continuously not short bursts and record it in RAW or Apple ProRes.

Mitch and Osslund, thanks for your comments. These are valuable options but they simply do not work for me and my workflow.

However this is not what I've been asking in my original post, which is not about what camera I should buy to record 4K 60p or how to get 4K 60p from the Fs5 with an external recorder.
I was specifically talking of what happens under the hood of the very same Fs5.

Is it reasonable to imagine that a firmware update can allow to record 4K at 60p with a rec709 gamma internally, given that the Fs5 is apparently a very capable machine? How many of you would jump on it even if it was a paid upgrade like the recent Sony firmwares?

It is not reasonable to assume that the FS5 could record 4K60p. In fact it cannot and will not ever be capable of such a thing. You asked if it could be done to the memory buffer, and for that it is possible, but it would only be a few seconds of recording so not particularly useful.

It depends. In my case (stock videos) 8 seconds at 60p are enough to sell a nice slow motion clip of 20sec at 24p. I'm sure that there are other applications that may benefit from it, e.g. low budget commercials, weddings, etc.
Also, I don't need raw and I prefer to stick with the cine gammas instead.

It's definitely not going to happen, and almost definitely not capable. FS7 or Odyssey are your only options, if neither works then no 4k60 for you!
