I would stick to the recording frame speed. frames.
Yes I would agree, the only exception would be if the 25fps is interlaced then frame doubling would be beneficial. If you're going from 25fps to 50fps your always going to be duplicating frames whatever process you use, so no I wouldnt go down that path. Edit for a 2k export @ 25fps.
I understand now.I think my question was not clear, I'll try it again (English is my third language so forgive me my mistakes.) It is not about changing framerate, I record 25fps 4K or 50fps 2K. I don't change the framerates.
What is better for projection:
Recorded in 4K 25fps and downscaled to 2K at 25 fps or
recorded native 2K at 50 fps
Are you positive that the projector can really display 50 fps? If not, then you're wasting your time shooting 50 fps regardless of the resolution.
The idea of 50fps was planted in my brain after filming slot car races with 60fps. These little cars are very fast. In slomo they seem to drive the proper speed. And the image is nice and sharp.
I'm sure I don't need to point out that there is a big difference between shooting 60/50 fps and playing it back at 25 fps for slow-motion vs. actually projecting a finished video at 60/50 fps. Two totally different uses of higher frame rates. So if you don't need slow-mo; and your project can't display at 60/50 fps; then there is no reason to shoot at 60/50 fps because half the frames will just be dumped someplace in the workflow.
