I shot some footage in 480/30p. When I pulled it into FCP, it had jagged edges. It came in as DVCPRO50 - NTSC 29.97, which is what I expected it to be.
The weird thing is that when I view the footage in QuickTime, it looks fine -- smooth edges - as long as the "High Quality" option in the Movie Properties/Visual Settings dialog box is checked.
I have exported from FCP to a QT movie, and it shows jagged edges in QT at that point.
What am I doing wrong?
