480 16:9 question

I just received the camera yesterday and I am a little confused about the 16:9 mode in 480. When you switch it over it goes into 4:3 mode at first and then you have the option to squeeze or letterbox - does this mean that in that mode it is not using the full CCD?

According to the manual the letterboxing is real letterboxing so black bars are added. What about the squeeze mode?

Use squeeze mode for true 16:9.

You should beable to see on your screen if it add the border or remove the top bottom when you set it in 16:9

If it add border, then it full sensor. If it just remove bottom or top of 4:3 then it like the DVX.

"squeeze" on the HVX is true native 16:9. I think it was a mistake on their part to name it "squeeze" because of the confusion it will cause. But it's the real deal.
