45 Seconds of no footage??

Hello,

I have a tape that was recorded with my DVX100B this last Saturday.
After digitizing the footage wih Final Cut Pro I noticed that about 45 minutes in there is no audio, video or timecode for about 50 seconds. When the video comes back, the timecode picks up right where it left off. Only thing I can think of is if there was a krink in the tape (which was brand new); is this even possible, or could it be a glitch with the camera.

Does anyone know what might of caused this?
 
I've had that happen once at a wedding but never again. I'm assuming it was just a tape issue, but I'd love to hear if anyone has anyother information about it.

Oh, and I shoot with a 100a if that helps anything
