That's stunning man. This was the HVX right? What did you color correct in? FCP? If you can give any tips about your camera settings and what you did to achieve great B&W in post it would be much appreciated. We have a film coming up soon that has black and white parts and to have as much knowledge as possible to have an end result like yours would be awesome. Thanks. Congrats with your project too.

All editing and CC was done in FCP. I did 3 way color correction. When I shot on tour, I usually had the contrast boosted just a little, make sure blacks are blacks. Other than that I honestly shot pretty neutral. I knew it was all going to be black and white in the end, so I worried mostly about making sure I was getting the right moments and my audio levels were correct. I was a one man crew the entire documentary so I had too many freaking things to worry about.

And if you were using an adapter, what kind was it?

Funny story, I JUST BOUGHT the letus extreme about a week before tour. I wanted to use it because I was to understand we were going to be shooting indoors a lot, and it handles low light much better. I hadn't even had it for 2 weeks and in Dallas, Texas the glass between the GG and Attached Lens actually fell into the converter. So i was freaking out. I took it apart and glued it back in. Ever since then I have had a "spec" in the top right corner, and when I shoot in 60p you can actually see it spinning. Like a snake going around and around in a circle. Half of my b-roll was unusable. I was so pissed. I sent it to Letus to get them to fix it....the only thing they did was send the letus back with a cleaning instructions manuel. .....AMAZING SERVICE if you ask me........I am still pissed. I love the Redrock, I just wish it had better low light capabilities. Sorry for the rant.

Again thanks for the congrats!

So you did use an adapter for it? And also. I have an HVX200 and when I shoot in slow mo it kills the light coming in and becomes grainy. Your footage looked so clean. So was there a lot of light to work with?? I loved the images. Nice framing and compositions throughout. I bet your photography back round helped out a bit.

Yes sorry if I wasn't clear in my previous statement. I used the Letus Extreme.
Well shooting in 60p should be completely fine, of course it kills more light. You shouldn't be getting more grain though, unless you are shooting in low light and haven't black balanced yet. You may have some settings wrong. There are many ways to shoot 60 frames without getting grain. Well outside obviously there was a lot, but shooting in the bus and the venues, really didn't offer much.

I swear this is my last question (Ha) but did you shoot in 60p or 60fps? If you shot at 720pn at 60fps that would automatically play back at slow mo.

Hey man, how did you create that effect when it showed that Demon was ill posted up on the Norva door? Did you use a digital camera and take pics as you were walking up and put them into sequence? It looked really cool.

I loved the cinematography of your shots! The music played well into the video as well. Congrats and for a one man crew, you bring hope to my future! Good luck with your future endeavors.
