420 to 422 colour....

Hi all

Just wondering - sorry if I've missed a thread on this already - if anyone has played around with the 420-422 patch much? Is it stable? Are there any plans to get it working on AVCHD or will the codec not support it?

Ive tried it with mjpeg using green screen and After effects...and in all honesty I see theres no difference without...still have to do a lot of fiddling to remove the green.

in my experience, green screen always takes alot of fiddling. the screen has to be very evenly lit, and absolutely no spill can get on the object/person/animal being keyed. at work, we have guy who is our specialist in keying and even he seems to take ages when ever we green screen.

the 422 works without any problems on the gf1, i assume the same for gh1 (any gh1 users please verify). it does however push the datarate up. if your card can handle this, then 422 is problem free. You probably wont see any difference in the picture though unless you want to color grade or broadcast the footage.
