$400 rebate?

I'm looking on the EVS website and it mentions a $200 mail-in-rebate for the DVX-100B.

But I heard something about the rebate now being $400? Is this true - and if so - how long is this going on for?

The rebate is from Feb 1 to Mar 31st. You send in for the $400, Mr Green's book and DVD, and the Magic Bullet is then sent to you.

That's exactly what I was thinking:

You could be right. Interestingly, I notice that Panasonic's $400 rebate on the DVX100B ends on Mar 31. NAB is in April. They may want to sell as many DVX100B's as possible, before introducing a new camera, which will fit into that $3500 price range. Perhaps, they may call it the EVX-150, or FVX-300?

One other thought I had, and this may be completely wrong, but perhaps they could double the speed of the DV tape drive motor, so that it could encode DVC Pro? Not sure if that would work, just an idea.

Best I've seen it for recently is $2900 approx ($3300 - $400 rebate). I would get it at a reputable dealer, and not a gray market version though. A couple hundred bucks less won't mean squat if there is no US warranty, and something goes wrong.

Well, you know I'm only speculating right?
But If you don't need it yet...wait.

I was gonna wait till' NAB, but I had a couple of projects to shoot ASAP.

I'm still saving up some money. I bought a new Mac and a D200 (which I sent back) so I'm building up my funds again and watching ...

That's really bullcrap to do that to us. They should really extend that extra 200$ to those of us that thought well enough of the product to get it early.
