-40? No problem

So I had a shoot in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta on Friday. -25C ( -40 with the windchill) One of the last sequences was filming a dogsled out on the open lake. The wind was vicious! I basically had to hold my gloved hand over my face in-between shots. Definitely didn't prepare sufficiently for the conditions.

Anyway, the FS700 and my Odyssey7Q performed flawlessly. Never had an issue with either. I was particularly concerned with the 7Q as I thought the cold might effect the screen. It did not. The temp readout on the 7Q stated -8. So I guess recording kept it a little warm! I limited the time the equipment was in the elements to 30-40 minutes, but other than the batteries draining much faster, there weren't any issues working in these extreme temps. Very pleased :)
