Is there any way to plug in 4pin xlr devices (like an on camera light) through some converter into the on-camera 3 pin xlr?

No, and for a good reason!
4-Pin XLR connectors are used to carry power (12 or 24 volts)
Whereas 3-pin XLR connectors are used to carry signals - such as audio signals in the DVX's case.
Plugging in 12v into the XLR inputs on your DVX could do some major damage.
