4-pin XLR Female to Cigarette Male

Does anyone know or have a wiring diagram for 4-pin xlr to cigarette adapter? thank you

The outside of the cigarette adapter is ground = MINUS. The center pin is PLUS.

Pin 1 of the 4-pin XLR is Ground/MINUS, and pin 4 is PLUS. Pins 2 and 3 of the XLR should not be connected to anything.

On that note, does anyone know where I can order these male cigarette plugs from?:
(see photo-notice the american style plug slots on the bottom of the adapter)

I took the picture.

I use it with my Lowel Tungsten light and a battery setup, a bit like a Bescor. It plugs right into the conventional wall plug coming from the light and into the female cigarette socket on the battery.

No, there is no manufacturer's name on it.

As I have 3 LED panels coming it would be helpful to have some more of these as a convenient adapter without having to commit to a battery only source.

Found something like it:

The next question is will this work with my LED panels coming from Coollights...

Yes that looks like it. Note that incandescent lamps don't care about polarity (plus and minus). But LEDs can fry if you get it backwards.

The CoolLights website says the the smaller (256LED) "spot" runs on 9V. You could conceivably use a 12V to 9V voltage regulator to allow using it on 12VDC. But plugging the 120V power cord into 12V will likely leave you in the dark. The 600 LED panel says that it runs on 12V, and appears to use an industry-standard 4-pin male XLR power input connector. Follow the instructions that come with the product.

Note that it is not recommended to try either of these unless you are well versed in high-power circuit design. It would be great to have Mr. Andrewski address the issue of 12VDC operation of his LED products. (Assuming this hasn't already been discussed elsewhere?)

So from what I seem to be hearing that adapter won't work because it is basically going through an AC to DC power converter. Thus I must go directly from an XLR to cigarette cable like here:

IN THEORY the cigarette lighter to 4-pin XLR cable will work for the LARGER panel that runs on 12V (nominal). It is not clear from the published information whether the smaller unit will run on 12V. You have never yet identified WHICH of the LED products you have ordered. The larger one (600 LED) "nominally" runs on 12V, but the smaller one (256 LED) says "9V".

I am NOT recommending running the larger lamp directly from a cigarette lighter source. Mr. Andrewski should be the one who specifies alternate recommended power solutions for his products.

The Cool Lights LED 600 can run on any DC source from 10V to 24V. The Cool Lights LED 256 can run on any DC source from 6V to 18V. Thus no need for external regulators if you have voltages in that range.

The power supplies that come with the units run on 12V and 9V respectively. Pin 1 of the XLR is Gnd and Pin 4 is + voltage on both units. Be careful all the same when making a DIY cable.
