4" HDMI Monitor Research

Hey guys, just wanting to get some opinions here.

I need to get a small HDMI Monitor for my DSLR when I boom up on the SteddiePod (using a 7D MKII), any thoughts on what make/model to use?
I primarily need it for reference, so while having color temperatures would be nice, I don't see them as an absolute necessity.

I've been looking at the standard brands (Marshall, iKan Corp, etc.) but what have you guys found out there?

Also, in the past there were these "masks" for the Sony PVM20 series monitors, that could give you an approximation of the Letterbox formatting, would that be necessary on these smaller monitors, to give a sense of "safety"?

Small DP4 with VF. Well built and the firmware is being improved all the time. Good company, great customer service.

anybody know about a loupe for a 4inch lcd? i have the monitor but i need a loupe. I dont wanna spend as much as the small hd, $125 but a loupe is a lot more than i can spend sadly.

I'm considering the possibility of tethering an Asus Nexus 7 tablet to my Nikon. Nice 1280x800 ips display for $250.
I'll need to create a hood/loupe for it, but I'm thinking that on top of being a quality monitor, it also offers all kinds
of expanded camera control options via tethering apps.

One thing which is almost never mentioned with use of these external monitors, is the fact that in video recording mode the camera battery more than doubles, i record mostly music conserts and i have almost stopped changing the camera battery in my GH2 which by comparisson is considered to short to other camera models.
