Yeah, Blair Witch looked like crap! This crappy looking film ended up grossing 100 million at the box office. Jack Ass, Andy Milinokis show, Bam Margaran, news station, and a bunch of countless films don't look great but yet loved by millions. Who cares, it must be content. .....
I don't want to delve to far into this debate, but I will say this, your right - lots of miss guided souls go to the movies to watch all manner of crap (no reference to Murderball) and yes you can "quote" Blair Witch and the $100M box office...

However, for the rest of us trying to make money in film the odds of winning the lottery are better than the odds of putting that kind of crap out there and having it be a hit. Blair Witch 2 tanked probably becuase they still didn't know how to produce a good film and not that many people who went to the original Blair Witch thought it was good enough to see the second. Also, since most of the big money is made in the ancillary markets (DVD) movies like Jackass et al don't ussually have the legs and don't perform well when compared to even reasonably bad B movies.

So if producing these kind of movies to get rich quick is your idea of success - well I'd suggest buying a lottery ticket. If you win then you can blow it all on making a movie

Hi,

Earlier in this thread I mentioned that they had not used the anamorphic on Murderball. But in reading the article in Videography, I just discovered that they did. Anyhow, very nice article about the film.

The article does a nice job talking about how they ended up with so many tapes.

All the best,

Jan

Thanks Jan,

I know you must get this question a lot BUT will the HVX be available in time (before the end of the year) so I can purchase it and write it off?

Hi Jan-
Where can I find the article about Murderball that you referred to? Is it on line? If not, what issue are you referring to?
Thanks
