4 audio tracks?

I am importing some footage we shot on my friends HVX yesterday and using Premiere CS3. It is taking up for audio tracks, its this normal or am I doing something wrong.

Also a side question, would this footage mix well with Canon A1 footage?

The HVX records 4 channels of audio all the time..... two from inputs 1 and 2, and, 3 and 4 from the internal mic (at all times). If the audio from 3 and 4 is junk (or if you recorded inputs 1 and 2 from the internal mic as well.), you can just drop them and keep 1 and 2.

Where the internal mikes are recorded is actually dependant on the position of the CHANNEL SELECT switches on the left side of the camera.

You can use CH1 and CH2 for the internal mikes or the XLR inputs, and only CH1 and CH2 can have their levels adjusted using the dials in the back -- CH2 and CH4 are always recorded with levels that are equivalent to the middle position of the dial.
