F3: 4:4:4 output using the 'picture profile' version of SLOG?

Hi guys,

Wondering if anyone with the CBK-RGB01 4:4:4 upgrade for the F3 can give me an answer on this; originally the paid SLOG upgrade would only allow you to select between 3200k and 5600k for your white balance while outputting 10-bit 4:4:4 through the SDI output.

What I'm wondering is whether the camera can be set to output 4:4:4 whilst using the newer 'picture profile' version of SLOG? (so that white balance can be adjusted whilst still getting SLOG and 4:4:4 out through the SDI port)

Cheers

I would think this can be done. When you're selecting the outputs modes the menu lets you select "Video" or "S-Log" for each output mode (1.5 Dual Link, 3G HD-SDI)

In your case if you keep it on "Video" while choosing RGB4.4.4 10bit, that should work - because then it will use your picture profile, which happens to be an S-Log gamma curve.

Cheers fellas, sounds like it should work fine using a combination of the 4:4:4 'video' output and the 'picture profile' SLOG.

I think you can only get 444 with the paid upgrade and out of both the A and B port limited to the two color temperatures (or the A port with 3G conection). I do not think the monitor port is beyond 1.5G and will not support 444. As mentioned, this is pointed out in Andy's posts in the past.
