4:3 when it should be Widescreen

I have a problem when I`m making a movie from my final composition.
My composition setting are PAL D1/DV Widescreen (my source file is also PAL DV Widescreen).

When I hit Make Movie, the Aspect Ratio for the end result is always 4:3.
This also happens when I choose Render Queue.

The only way to make a final movie in Widescreen, is when I choose File > Export > AVI.

Why won`t the first two methods make a Widescreen movie?

PS! I`m using an old After Effects version.

When I play the movies, made with the two first methods, in Windows Media Player, the ascpect ratio is 4:3.
When I play a movie which I have made via > File > Export, the movie is in widescreen.

This sounds like it might not be aspect ratio, but pixel aspect ratio. What happens when you click "Toggle Pixel Aspect Ratio Correction" in your Composition window? (looks like two headed arrow over a box ... located to the right of how many views your Composition window is in ... usually says "1 View" by default)

Windows Media Player will not 'unsquish' the video by itself. (Most media players won't.) You need to do that manually.
