This is my question, I have a DVX100a - i'm shooting 24pa at 4:3 (no fancy 16:9 lens attached), however, I did masked the top and bottom parts of my monitor so I can frame the shot right. My question is what is the easiest way to turn my 4:3 footage to 16:9 - now I don't want my final to have the black bars (top and bottom, Fig 1) rather to look like (Fig. 2) - is this possible, using FCP or AE7? anyone? - sorry I don't have original footage, but I think this would get my point accross... thanks in advance..
