I'm not sure if i'm the only one that can't (still) understand the process of converting 4:3 into 16:9 with out the lens (DVX100, not DVX100A)...A little background on my project, I'm working on a film about 50-60mins long, i'm planning to edit the entire film using Apple Suite - for final outputs to DVD and then hopefully film...
This is what i "think" i should do so far; I placed a transparent sheet on my LCD with bars on the top and bottom to simulate the "letterbox" on the DVX, now from what i read, I should record my film at 4:3 and then letterbox in post either using fcp or AE-MagicBullet after FCP. ok i got that so far these are my questions;
1. Should I edit my entire movie (at 4:3) in FCP first and re-import the final sequence into a 16:9 sequence, and if so what should be the settings for the sequences?
2. or Should I edit my entire movie (at 4:3) in FCP first and import the final movie file into an 16:9 comp in AE and apply the magif bullet mask then?
in etheir situation it seems to me the i'm gonna hafta zoom-in the movie 175% to make it fit into a 16:9? or i'm I make it all this too complex - what is the easiest way to do this?
thanks in advance
