4:3 to 16:9 in CS4 Timeline

I have Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 and I was wondering how to get my 4:3 footage from my DVX to be cut to 16:9 ratio instead of black bars on the side when I drop it into a widescreen timeline. What setting do I need or do I have to do this manually? I was hoping it would do it automatically, but that doesn't appear to be the case unless my settings need to be adjusted.

Either these forums are dead or I just didn't post an interesting question...

Also, I finally dug through enough posts to find a somewhat workable answer. Not sure if it's the best, but it seemed to work.
