4:3 in 720p

Hi,
i was shooting for a news network, when the
producer asked me whether, footage shot on
720p 25PN can be dubbed to tape or hard disk
without letterboxing, full 4:3 frame? From my
understanding, there's no setting in the camera
to do this, unless i missed out on something?

Another thing, i realised when i was shooting
in tape mode in 576i that the focus assist button
doesn't work. Is there a way to turn it on? or is it
a factory setting?

Thanks,
Senman

Hey Senman,

Dubbing 720p/25PN in camera to tape isn't possible without the letterbox. It is possible in editing but you will loose some parts (sides). The focus assist button only works when shooting HD, not in tape mode. Hope it helps.\

If it helps... set your on screen frame guides to 4:3. That way you can show producer the frame while shooting and he/she can have an idea what piece will contain once converted to 4:3. Also will help you compose your shots. Youll still be recording 16:9...but its a visual reference/aid that should help.

Just wondering..where do you find that setting?
Thanks
