GH4 4:3 Anamorphic Mode Question

Is it possible to shoot normal spherical 4:3 24p with a regular lens in the anamorphic 4:3 mode? If i wanted to get the old school 4:3 look would it be possible or is this mode only good when a 2x lens is used?

You absolutely can use it as you are describing. You can also shoot in 4:3 6k and crop to 16:9 4k and get a damn fine image.

Now I’m even more excited for my first lens to show up Thursday. I believe 6k is the gh5, not the gh4
