The HD stuff seems to have better color.
Does the SD stuff shot with the HVX200 have 4:2:2 color as well?
It looks like the DVX to me.

Material shot in DVCPRO50 (an SD format) has 4:2:2 color space, and should look superior to DVX footage (as well as be much better for keying). Material shot in regular DV or DVCPRO mode should look very similar to the DVX output. Also remember that you can only shoot DVCPRO50 to the P2 cards.

Thanks.

I am going to shoot a short film for local film festivals, and need something in SD. Around here, the quality of shorts look very bad, mainly due to bad focus and multiple rendering, and transfering of compressed files, plus the venues projector sits in the same place collecting smoke on the lens from smokers..

I would love to shoot it in HD, but I have no way to show it. The venue uses a projector that most likely is SD, My only hope is that the color looks better than other stuff.

bring a fan and blow the smoke out of the way only during your short.
you'll win that fest.

heh, this is the only situation where you don't want to "blow away" the competition...:cheesy:
