4-12mm f/1.2, ultra fast, ultra wide on GH2, only $99

I can show you some video from one and you can see why $99 isn't necessarily a bargain:

That's all with the GH2 in crop mode... well, maybe one or two where I used a 2x teleconverter. The teleconverter gives a significant hit in IQ and light transmission, and you lose your 4-~7 range (teleconverter obstructs the rear element). Without the teleconverter, it's utterly unusable on an AF100. On the GH2, it's kitschy and kind of a pain in the rump to fiddle with. It's built entirely of plastic, the controls are small with no resistance (or complete resistance), it's highly varifocal, has ugly bokeh, severe distortion and CA, no threads for filters, moving elements, no weather or dustproofing... I'm sure there are some other issues that I can't think of at the moment.

I'd gladly pay 6-10x that amount to have that range and speed with good glass, full coverage, easy-to-manipulate focus, zoom, and iris, and heck, autofocus and so forth as well, with none of the other compromises.

yikes, point taken.
I guess the 12mm Olympus is the best we can get now.
Just can't afford that $800. Just bitter, I'm just bitter!

Dont feel bitter. The flange adjustment spacer rings for my lenses are $800. Know an $800 lens is a bargain.
