GH2 3D video

Hi!
I read somewhere that you could use the 3D lens in video mode by simply covering the pins between the camera and the lens. Has anyone tried it?
This could be a great thing to look into hacking this part of the firmware to enable filming with this lens.
 
I think Barry did a write up of this in the Articles forum. Long story short, it works, but not very well. At all.

However, if you want to jump through hoops, you can have one of the simplest, easiest-to-use 3D rigs on the market. Just don't expect much more than standard-def footage from it, and be prepared to make compromises in how you monitor the footage and how you work with it in post."
