3d editing - need preview on my 3D monitor

Hello everybody,

I am a newcomer here. In fact, I am still evaluating Media Composer 6 for my Stereo 3d editing needs (gave up on stereo toolbox, and not willing to waste more money with neo3D, i want a native solution now).

So far, it looks great. just something I couldn't do yet:
- I still can't get an output on my ext 3d screen (JVC 48" passive). Can you guys help with that?

I have dual Apple monitor output, plus the JVC, connected via a Blackmagic 3D card (HDMI out) on one channel, and on the other channel, as a third desktop monitor (using mac's DVI output and a DVI-HDMI cable).
Quickly looking at the help, I couldn't find any reference to Blackmagic cards. Is it really not supported?
Also outputting using the DVI would be a suitable option for me (using side-by-side), but I have read somewhere that it is not possible to output full screen through a graphic adapter which is not the primary one.

What solution would you guys propose?
This is important in order to give the final go to the purchase of MC6 and dump the unsatisfactory stereo 3d toolbox.

ciao, thanks,
Andrea

thanks a lot

I fixed it in the end.
You have to download the newest release of the blackmagic software, which now incorporates MC6 support.
It works great now.

only thing I still can't do is to display the S3D overlay lines for fine parallax adjustment on the external monitor.
If somebody knows how to do it, please let me know!
ciao,
Andrea

Adrea - there are differences between third party hardware and Avid DX hardware when it comes to certain functionality - for example voice-over and universal mastering. If I remember correctly, the image overlay stuff may also fall into that camp. If so, it might be a limitation in the Avid SDK used by manufacturers, If not, then it is up to third parties to implement. That is the challenge with multiple vendors in a solution, is getting down to where the issue lies and who and when it will be resolved. I would start with your Avid resellers/support or email someone in Avid product management for starters.
