$375 for GH1 with LUMIX G VARIO 14-42mm Lens w/ Panasonic EPP !

That's less than what the G10 is selling for right now. What other competent, larger sensor cameras can you get for that price? Olympus E-PL1 and E-420 can be had for around $400 if you know where to look. Canon Rebel XS , Nikon D3000 and Pentax K-x are well over $400 and the GH1 outperforms and out specifies them in most areas...

Yeah for $375, I maybe would buy one. However, from the looks of it, the price is now $499. Not worth it to me. I also noticed amazon was selling "used" gh1 with 14-45mm lens from their "warehouse" for this same amount. I bet you these "used" units are actually new, but just overstocked.

I think everyone is trying to get rid of inventory.

If this is question to me that's going to be my first DSLR camera and this deal looks great. Especially considering I am going to use it mainly for still photography and need some time to decide which way I want to move.

Even worse if you are going to use it for stills. Save your money and get something better.
 
I think this is a very good deal. I am one of the people who did get the camera for $375.00 on this deal. Right now used GH1 bodies are being sold for $500.00. From what I understand the lens we get is a $350.00 dollar lens so basically I just got a killer DSLR for $25.00. To me that is a no brainer. A GH2 with the same lens is $1000.00. This may come as a shock to some people but not everybody has an endless supply of money. If this purchase was one strickly as a business purchase then yes perhaps that person should consider a GH2. With that said the GH1 is still a great camera. Its 720p mode from what I understand is unchanged in the GH2. Sure there may be a few newer features but most people don't consider something useless just because there may be a newer model. A GH1 will still take great pictures and record some very nice video if used carefully.

Would I prefer a GH2? Heck yes but is anybody here going to give me the extra $600.00 to get one so my wife doesn't castrate me. The next priced option is a Canon t2i which is nice but the 720p mode blows and the amount of aliasing and moire kill me.

I'm hoping in a year or two I can sell off my GH1 body and get a GH2 or GH3. At that point I may actually find a GH2 in stock.
 
actually its a $200buck lens so your getting a decent dslr for $175 =) It is a very decent buy if you are more into stills and not so much the hack. dedicated time lapse camera!
 
Considering what $375.00 buys in a consumer video camera and cheap point and shoot still camera to compliment it I would say this is a steal for what we really get. Even at $500.00 that is a steal. Remember this isn't a used camera at all that we are buying off of Ebay. This is a brand new camera with full warranty. There just happens to be a newer model out now with slightly better features. Were any of you fools for shooting with the GH1 6 months ago? If not then none of us are fools for wanting to shoot with a GH1 now. It isn't as if the camera all of a sudden got worse just because a new one is out.
 
Since last Sunday my order status has been

Shipped: Estimated Delivery 01/18/2011. Tracking information not available.

I haven't received anything yet.
 
PD staff gave me a tracking number. The lens is on the way scheduled to be delivered on next Monday. He said GH1 body will be shipped today since they just got a new batch of GH1 units. I don't think they r still manufacturing GH1. They must be trying to sell asap. When they sell all, I hope there's the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
 
How are you guys getting this for $375? It says $425 when I click the link, even though I am a fan on facebook.

Umm because its a great camera and a great filmaking tool at a great price WITH a lense. I dont think this needs explaining.
I bought new GH1 body for £199 last month...is that crazy? Or perhaps you think that just because the GH1 is a few years old makes its obsolete?

A great camera is a great camera...and the GH1 is a gem...and now cheap as chips.
