$375 for GH1 with LUMIX G VARIO 14-42mm Lens w/ Panasonic EPP !

[joe1946]

I just ordered that deal since it was too hard to pass up IMHO.

[maranfilms]

will it be hackable?

[tyrone_bigsby]

Coming from Panasonic, probably not. You never know though. It's still a great deal regardless.

I think you ordered only the lens, camera is backordered, right ?

[joe1946]

The GH1 might have a slight adavantage in some still shots at certain ISOs over the GH2 with only 12mp vs 16mp.

Yes the camera is backordered but I have the GH2 so I am not in a rush like I was with my GH2 order.

Update: I looked at my email from PD EPP and it looks like the 14-42 is backordered and not the GH1 so who knows if they will ship the GH1 in 1-3 days like shown in my email.

On my email receipt:

Definitely lower noise with the GH2 as well as no excessive banding as in a lot of the GH1s. The GH2 will also do 6400 and 12800(pretty unusable, I'm sure) ISO.

please explain how you got it for 375 vs. 500

Panasonic Employee Purchase Plan

Using facebook fan discount should be like that, right ?

I joined Panasonic EPP last year using my Corporate Perks Employee Pricing account.

The GH1 doesn't appear under the Facebook fan page discount, no way to add to shopping cart, it just refers you to a Retailer. GH2 does though for $765.

[kato]

I wonder if they will ship them separately since the lens is on backorder?

If they do I will compare the GH1 to my GH2 . I have the 14-45 so I really don't need the 14-42 but it should be worth about $100 or so.

How do you access the facebook fan page discount? I'm on my iPhone so maybe that's why I'm not seeing it.

Actually, I was able to log in with my Facebook and it's available for $425 for the bundle.

It looks like Panasonic has now cut it's ties to Corporate Perks.

[kurth]

did you try adding to cart ? the 425 turns into 499.95 - and on the pany fansonly facebook catalog , there´s no gh1 bundle - there´s a body-only for 425, but no bundle
