Has anyone done a 35mm Film blowup from DVX footage.?

Couple of questions:

Of course I will shoot in 25p as im in PAL land but
what about shutter speed... I want to shoot highspeed
shutter for certain action scenes...will this cause any prob?

What about 35mm lens adapters? the footage from some of
these I have seen are a little soft which could cause probs for the big screen
and experiences anyone?

any tips suggestions?

Thanks very much

Shutter speed is no problem when shooting 25p. If you were shooting interlaced 50i, then a high shutter speed is specifically forbidden by most film transfer houses, but when shooting 25p it's no problem.

If you want to see what a 35mm lens adapter looks like on the big screen, I had some DVX/mini35 footage transferred by DVFilm, and we had the same shot without the mini35 also transferred. The mini35 was definitely softer, but not a tremendous amount -- it was surprising to see how well the mini35 version held up. Can't speak for the low-cost adapters, but the mini35 did work.

SD footage isn't ideal for film transfer, but the DVX does better than any SD interlaced camera would. Make sure to use THIN line detail, and you really should test before committing to using a 35mm adapter.
