35mm adapter/Sony V1 Footage?

Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone knows of any footage taken with the Sony HVR-V1 using a 35mm lense adapter? In my toss up between the V1 and the XH-A1, the ability to get 35mm DOF is very important to me. Especially since the V1 already has limited DOF due to its 1/4 CMOS chips.

Also, would the CMOS chips be too hard-pressed to capture enough light in the first place for a 35mm adapter to work at all?

I can post some footage with the Redrock and the V1U once I figure out how to correctly import the footage into FCP, ha

Thanks Greg! If you get the chance, could you try to shoot some low light samples? I'm really interested to know how the V1 handles low light with a 35mm adapter.

Grug, What is your ideal shot let me know and I will try and get it right for you. If you give me your prefered settings as well you can see the results. I have a SGPro R2 on a V1E so 25p only if you want progressive.

Perfect Steve - The SGpro is the 35mm I'm hoping to pick up myself! If you could shoot something like a city street at night, or a dimly lit room that would be great.

A lot of my short films involve dark alleyways and dingey warehouses (so anything genuinely dark would be great) I love the samples I've seen of the V1 (with SGpro) shot in the daytime, they seem crisper, clearer and just nicer than any other HDV footage I've seen - but I'd like to know whether I'm going to have to shoot day-for-night with the V1 every time I have a dark setting, before I buy the camera.

Cheers,

Mark
