35mm adapter rig photos

dwilliam is those red hand grips I see? Are you using a 19mm to 15mm rod adapter? What's it like using those with an adaptered ex1 rig?

Well I can imagine they aren't rocksolid on a Red ONE but for this setup they work fine. I used a piece that came with the old Sgpro rodsupport to connect them (screws seemed to line up nicely).

My rig is finally "compact" and rock solid:

XH-A1 with RNGV3.1 and DIY POS monitor.
I used to have 24" carbon fiber rails but I dumped those for 10" DIY oak rails to be more compact.

Getting there little by little. Here's the latest incarnation of my HPX170-based rig. Using the Cinevate Proteus hardware and some extra parts, it will soon allow the Redrock Mattebox to fully slide back and forth to accommodate nearly any size lens (as it should), and an SGblade now takes the place of my LEX. I'm also going to try inverting the flip module to get the camera down lower to the rails...

Still need to add an FF (the Durus is leading the choices right now), a cage for more accessories, and an external monitor (looking at the new Marshall 7" SDI).

No fair! You have more cool parts than I do!

I just shot about 5 mins of footage outside of my work office. I'll get some more later this afternoon.

bluesmudge, it looks to me that your shoulder mount system does not look very balance at all. Do you have any problems using it? I have one similar shoulder mount and it was so front heavy that I quit using it.

Leo, what type of donut ring adapter you use between your lens and the matte box? Because I have different size lenses, I always have problems with connecting my lenses to the matte box without having any light come through the back of the matte box.

I'm trying to figure out a good long-term solution for that; the donuts that come with the RR don't fit my lenses perfectly either. I'm thinking that maybe I could buy some 6mm neoprene rubber sheets and cut my own or a better solution would be to make something like the Zacuto Universal donut that can fit them all...

In the meantime, I'll just use some women's hair 'scrunchies' to fill the gaps...

Hell of a rig Leo.
And I thought mine was huge....

Frank

Holy crap that thing is a monster!

Yes, it's getting kinda heavy; after I add a few more items, I think it will end up being somewhere north of 20lbs. Who needs to go to a gym? A few run 'n gun sessions a week with this 'RPG' and you're good to go :kali:

You can use the Zacuto Universal Donut with your RR mattebox. You have to get a stepdown ring... but Redrock designed that mattebox smart and made holes for all sorts of things... like the ARRI bellows and the such.

here is the letus elite with out the mattebox or FF, it looks kinda naked.

Hey Jay, how's that SWIT monitor for focusing? I noticed that it's using a composit input as opposed to component.

Just had a quick play around, its fantastic for focusing, but for true image quality not brilliant but okay as its not a HD monitor. but does the trick
