35mm Adapter Final Questions

Dennis is probably just a little busy or out of town.
He's always been very quick to reply to my questions.

Ab, we're a few days behind on email ... if you don't get a reply in 24 hours, please email again as our spam filter may have grabbed your message.

Btw, I can't speak for the Letus, or it's ground glass but if you blast the Brevis stock imaging element with too much light (call it overexposure if you like) you will definitely not get the best image. You'll still get an image that may look OK, but you will at the minimum get hazing and some resolution loss (image will look slightly washed out). I have not tested CF2 or CF3 in deliberately "overexposed" conditions, but my advice would remain the same. The best explanation I can offer is that our optical systems (CF1, CF2, CF) are definitely optimized (respectively) for increased light levels.

I just want to be sure I make the smartest investment. If the best image is through Nikon lenses, then that's the direction I'll be going in.

Anyone want to answer this...

QUICK POLL:

If you own a 35mm adapter, please post which one you own and if you think that it's worth every penny of the extra cost.

THANKS!!!

I love my M2 Redrock adpater. I have the HD package and use a Nikon 50mm f 1.4 lens. I use an indie follow focus, geared, and a Marshall Hd Monitor upside down on a noga arm for 17 lb monitors. This setup is worth EVERY PENNY! Focus is hard to pull and the HD monitor is a must! But once you are able to get the focus, the images are unbelievable. Here is one I just took from a youth comedy

Here is my setup:

Hey MSconce, how do you like your indie follow focus. I'm debating whether to get the MicroFocus or the Indie? Anyone else have an insingt on this?
thanks.

SGPRO. This is shot with the old version. The new one is HD ready and is AMAZING.

I thought it said in barry's book that the HVX's lens is designed so its sharp at wide open because people love thir shallow DOF.

stopping down a bit is good. Mostlenses arent pinsharp at wide open. they need F2.8-F11 to be at theri sharpest.

Same for the DVX/HVX. I reccomend lighting till ou get proper exposure at F 2.8 on your adapter setup. this about a 1k setup. 1k key, 500w fill 750/1k BAcklight.

diffused of course.

this hsould provide you with an adequatly sharp picture even in 1080P.

as above.
