GH3 35-100 f2.8 lens $1000 in Japan!!

Hey guys, my wife is on a trip in Japan and has seen the 35-100 2.8 lens for about $1000. Is there any reason this lens will not work with my GH3?? I know the GH3 cameras there are Japanese only menus which can not be changed by firmware. Any thoughts on this ...
 
Likely the warranty will not be honored in your home country.

When the 12-35/2.8 had a delayed release in the USA I ordered from DigitalRev in Hong Kong, but it's possible to send it back to them if it needs warranty servicing.

The lens accepts firmware updates just like my local purchases.

35-100mm doesn't seem (from user reports thus far) to have the stutter issue. Even the 12-35mm will hopefully get a firmware fix...
