32GB p2 at NAB 07?

they might have them on display.. but they're not supposed to be released until December 07... maybe they will display them at NAB to tease us.. The 16 gb cards are slated for an early may release (if my information is correct).. I posted a banner from the panny website on the Iditerod thread showing a similar looking 16 gig card... So, we know they exist.. when they will be seen in the flesh, we will see

Should we expect a drop in P2 pricing come may, i.e. 16GB at $500 and 8GB at $250. I mean if 32GB P2s are to be at $1000 come December then surely very few, if any, person would buy a 16GB at $1000 when in 6 months the price would drop to half.

I would love to see 32GB in May but 16GB in May at 500 and 8GB at 250 would fantastic.

Why wouldn't they? It happens all the time in electronics. People bought 4 gig cards under the assumption that 8 gigs would be along shortly after. They bought 8 gigs under the assumption that 16 would not be too far away. It just didn't turn out that way. Now p2 size/price predictions 'seem' to be getting back on track.

If I need 16's and have the money, I will buy 16's and then sell them to someone who wants some cheap 16's when 32's are available, if I need 32's, at that time.

My opinion,
Jason

Yes, you are right. If people do need it than they will get it. But for many I would think 6 months getting by with 8GB cards would be good enough instead of spending the money on 16GB cards.

8GB cards will obviously drop in price with the 16's out but I don't think they're going to be anywhere near what most of us would determine to be a reasonable price. Once 32's come out 8's should be affordable.

Someone on a p2 thread said something along the lines of "technology is only worth what people are willing to pay" and that's dead right.
