32GB Compact Flash Filled Quick?

I was filming yesterday and in the middle of shooting my card got filled. So I had to dump the footage. Is there a reason that the Footage I dumped was only 9GB. So how is it that my card is telling me it's full and the footage I dumped was only 9GB?

I was shooting 1920x1080 30FPS with Full battery life and a Sandisk Extreme 3.
Anyone know or have any input on this?
