32 GB FLASH DRIVE.. forget p2 cards

P2 card adapter to this baby would rock... ZERO moving parts... plus its supposed to only be 350 bucks...

I was wondering when someone was gonna bring this up.

The $350 pricetag is wholesale to other manufacturers. This thing will be at least $600 retail. Yeah that's cheaper than the alleged 32gig P2 cards but it's bigger too! I like P2 more and more as I work with it.

But yeah I'm excited about these new drives, they will be great for laptops. Hope they make 3.5in drives for desktops. A 128gig or even a 64gig version would make a great snappy boot drive.

Why would you want to transfer P2 cards to this? You won't fit much... Unless you mean plug this into the P2 slot somehow...

Wonder how these might work in the Cineporter...?

Imagine a larger version in a P2 store though... or as an external to offload to. Concerns about reliability in rough or rugged situations would almost dissapear.

considering that all the P2 alternatives out there, make the HVX even more bulky and still more pricey, a nice 12" widescreen laptop running sth like DVrack (for recording AND monitoring) and offering removable Flash drives for data storage sounds more and more appealing to me...
