30pN at 24 frames dilemma! Help!

I'm on set right now, shooting a multi camera short on two HVX's, our frame rate is 24fps.

One camera was set correctly, 24pN, frame rate 24. I just realized that the other camera was set to 30pN, frame rate 24. So we got our shots at 24fps, but the clips are for 30p playback. We basically shot 30p and undercranked to 24, but we need normal 24fps shots.

Is there a way where we can take these clips and make them play at 24p correctly?

yes, you could easily do so in any NLE; just play the clips at 80% speed. The bigger problem will be if you needed audio from that camera, because shooting at off-frame rates means no audio gets recorded.

But if you don't need audio, then yeah, you don't have a problem. If you're an Apple user, you can use Cinema Tools to "conform" the 30p clip to 23.976 fps,, and that'll correct everything automatically. Otherwise, just drop the clips on the timeline and disable frame blending and play back at 80% speed.

Thanks Barry! We did record Audio, but the sound dept. Did all that to their device, and we slated the takes. After the cinema tools conform, we should be good to sync back our sound right?
