I would like to know if Avid or any users out there know of a way to edit in natively shot 30p from my HVX 200. There are settings in many editing platforms to export Lower or Upper fields, including progressive scan, but nothing that offers 30p capture from the git go. The HVX shoots SD stuff very nicely at 30p, everything pops and comes alive (because it is my understanding, this is the native format of the CCD in the Camera to begin with, along with 16x9.
Could someone explain why they dont offer this or maybey why they do not need to? I find a lot of horizontal "Tearing" (as I call it) resulting from the interlaced video that it appears I am stuck editing with if I choose to edit 29.97 video (V.S. 24P stuff)
This horizontal artifacting becomes really annoying after several exports or transfers of my project's components, if it is targeted for interlaced video playback, thats one thing, but many times, projects become multi media based and I am trying to edit with that broad spectrum of delivery in mind. I dont know the best way to do this..
Maybe I just dont understand how to set up my projects or export the video properly so I dont end up with this problem to beging with. Any help is appreciated.
I do end up using many different editing platforms and environments during my project's editing phase. IE: Premiere Pro, After Effects ETC.
Hope I did not pile on too much here at once.
