30P to 24P slow motion

so if i have shot a handful of 24p footage and a handful of 30p footage and i have both clips in a 24p timeline and i want to mix the footage, but make the 30p fotoage slow motion? what is the best way to go about this? im using adobe premiere and just put the 30p fotoage at 80% but i noticed thats looking quite choppy and such. so whats the best way to make 30p footage slow mo but still look clear and smooth? THANKS!

i get this same problem in Final Cut. When I import the footage into my 24fps timeline, it drops frames in order to keep the 30fps footage in normal time, but when I slow the footage down to 80% it keeps the dropped frames and then uses a frame blend to fill in the gaps.

ditto, same thing for me in premier 2.0.

Perhaps Barry green knows the propper way being as he wrote about it in his book...

I shoot 24pa and 30p for slow motion (60 shutter speed on the 30p) I edit in PPro 2 on a 24p timeline. I import the 30p footage onto the timeline, slow down by 80% and Turn OFF frame blending. It looks great, never had a problem. Sometimes I shoot 120 shutter speed on it, but it still looks fine...
