30p to 24P conversion using Apple shake test.

1. what was your shutter set at?

2. What system are you running (specs)

3. How long did it take to render that 37 second clip for reference/those of us who haven't tried shake yet.

Thanks.

Thanks.

1.) 1/60

2.) Octocore Mac, 16gb ram, 8TB esata raid5

3.) Wish I knew. I hit render and let it cook overnight. I'll do it again and log the time.

Awesome, thanks dude.

I guess it's about time for me to do some 24P conversion tests with this thing. Especially with motion/handheld.

I find it takes about the same time as Timewarp in AE and the quality in Shake seems better. Still I havent tested it on multiple moving objects in a shot in which most of these flows break down.

One thing for sure is that as the timeline lengthens in AE the output slows down. ie ...The first half of the render seems much faster. In Shake or FCP/compressor, the retiming render flows seem the same from start to finish. Might just have been my imagination though

I've tried FCPro speed changes, Twixtor, AE and now Shake and IMO Shake is the smoothest looking.

I plan to do some more tests with more motion soon.

I don't own a Mac, so all I can say is that it looks good while I clinch my fist and shake it madly at my PC/Win configuration.
