30p Slow Motion Help

Hello Everybody,

I'm trying to do some slow motion with 30p setting reather than the 60i I usually do.

In 60i I can deinterlace and get a new image for every frame. Is there a way to do this in 30p or a way to convert 30p to 30i?

The best I've got was deinterlacing 30p which gives me slo mo but it repeates each frame twice so it's a bit jerkey.

I haven't tried just slowing down 30p to %80 in a 23.98 or 30 timeline yet.

I was wondering if anybbody has a great way to get the best 30p slo mo.

I can't go 60i because it's a lip sync music video and the words just go by too fast.

If it matters I'm using FCP.

Thanks for any help of direction to post that I could not find about the subject on my own.

Kip

You can get a new frame from every 60i field because each field is only half a frame. There are 60 separate moments per second.

Every 30p frame is already a full frame. 30p has 30 time samples per second, and that's it. So, the smoothest slomo in a 24p timeline is 80%.

Can you tell me how to do it, for example, in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0?
