Hi -
I am new to the forum and I just bought the dvx100a. I will try to run some of my own tests but I would like to ask for wisdom from more experienced users.
I will be working on a project where I will have to synch my footage, shot, I'm assuming, in 60i mode, with footage from a PD150 or XL-1. I am aware of the dvx100a's audio synch problem but I want to confirm that there won't be major problems when it come time to edit and synch with the other footage. I was also wondering would it be okay to shoot in 30p even though we will be working interlaced? Is 60i better than 30p when working with other interlaced footage? Any "gotchas" I should be aware of? We will be editing on an Avid Xpress Dv...

Many Thanks,
Athena

If you shoot in 60i you will have no problems sync'ing things up.

If you choose to shoot in 30p, be aware that there will be a dramatic difference in the look of the footage from each camera. If you were hoping to seamlessly intercut them, you must shoot in 60i. If you want them to look very, very different, then you can use 30P or 24P to accomplish that.
