30P footage playback compatability??

Wow. My first post ever. This is exciting.

I've got an editing project coming up using footage that was shot on a DVX100 in 30P mode.

Does anyone know if I'll need to use a DVX100 as a deck in order to playback and import the footage into my FCP editing suite or can I use any mini-dv deck/camera? Specifically, I'd like to use my VX2000 but I'm not sure what will happen to the footage.

Also, does anyone know if 30P plays back as 29.97fps?

You can use your VX, or a little mini-dv camera as a deck to capture.

Quality, frame rate, sound, over all picture are not harmed!

You can edit 30p in 29.97.
