30p drop frame or non-drop frame

What is the correct setting for shooting in 30p? Drop frame or non-drop frame. A friend of mine borrowed the DVX100a and when it was returned I forgot to check that setting and shot some footage in 30p with the setting on "drop frame." Are there any consequences in this? I know in 24p it is always non-drop frame. Have been too busy to capture this to Vegas, but before I do, just curious what disaster I've created - thanks to good buddy messing with settings.

Drop frame and lower filed first is the basic standard for DV (DVX or other cameras) 30p in a 29.97 timeline with the above settings are normal. Just make sure that the record and edit are set the same.
