30p Documentary

So I'm just about to wrap up a documentary that I've been shooting for the past three weeks and I've shot the whole thing 30p. I know about its limitations for film-out and PAL conversion, but my hope for the doc is that it could be shown on television and small venue theaters. Are my only options now DVD and web? I feel that I may have shot myself in the foot for doing this, but I really enjoy the motion of 30p vs. 24p when it comes to video. I know that Compressor can convert the footage to 24 but I hear that it affects quality. Suggestions anyone?

Interesting! My question that I was about to post regards the same issue. The subject of mine will be "24p or 30p & then convert in FCP". Best wishes.

I guess I don't understand the problem. Yes you can play 30P on TV and the web. Yes a film out will be a PITA and who would want to do that? Film out seems to be the Eldorado of independent filmmaking. How many people actually do this and how many venues for Indies actually screen film these days? It seems to me you don't have a problem. You shot in 30P, you like 30P now finish in 30P.
