30p and Slow Motion

Hi I'm working on a project shot in 30p. I need to create alot of slow motion for some of the segments. Obviously there are some strobbing issues here.

Can anyone recommend something to get smooth slo mo?

Ive already tried twixtor and Im not that happy with it, plus the render times are just too long.

So far the best Ive been able to achive is using Avid's render settings at 50% speed using duplicated fields. But I'd like to see a much better result than this.

Thanks for the help.

Re: 30p and Slow Motion

The issue with progressively shot material is thay vector based slomo programs such as Twixtor etc. do not have enugh motion samples to work with - in some cases it works great, and in others, it doesn't.

Other than Twixtor, you can try Boris FX and the Avid timewarp effects which also have vector based slomo but use different approaches. You could give those a try to see if anyone gets you closer to the quality you are looking for.

you'll have good luck using 3-prong's SpeeDRamP.
AE is always your friend too.
