30db night footage noiseless. prores download.

Yeah I agree. The digital-looking colored noise I see on the 5D Mark II at 3200 and above (and far worse on a 7D) is really hard to take. The noise here is far lighter and far more "filmic" and grain like. And easier to clean up in post. Amazing low light from this cam.

Is there an option to go beyond 30db? I bet it would be usable too with some noise reduction.

Nightvision anyone?

well actually... i did shoot this at 1/48 shutter. so you could always take it down to 1/24 and get yet another stop of light in there....

at this rate, next step, ND filters at night to avoid the shadows blowing out..

Thank you so much for posting this. 5K? AMAZING!!!! I LOVE the grain. Just think...it's only ISO16000. (Notice the EXTRA zero here folks) I am STUNNED. :)

WOWWW.....thank you for the clip. I CAN'T believe you took this at midnight......it looks like it was shot in the daytime...and the grain looks great! I'm so glad I ordered the cam!

The one bad thing about such sensitive cameras, is that more directors and producers will say "Grip Truck? Lights? Not in the budget. Why? When you can shoot with a FS100 or F3 with street lamps!"

MARK MY WORDS CINEMATOGRAPHERS WHO LIKE TO LIGHT. IT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU. very soon.

That already happens. Has been since they found out DSLRs are made of magic and fairy dust. I have the perfect remedy for it. Use the word "NO" and if that doesn't work, walk away. I love that we can now get shots that have never before been possible. And while it is somewhat of a "game changer", most of the game works great as is and doesn't need changing. I will continue to light as always and use the new tricks where needed.

Still a month or so since I shot with this thing and I'm still starving for it.

Holding out for an MKIII update, but if nothing soon I'll probably be shooting FS100 for most stuff, including the next feature.

Yeah, it looks to be a good holdover camera until something better comes along in the less than $7K category.

I'm getting mine from EC Junior next week. Looks like a pain ergonomically, no sdi, no nd's, no real viewfinder but image quality is the holy grail for most of us. And we'll do what we have to do to work around it's limitations.
