30-year doc veteran takes the AF100 to Libya

holy **** - and I stress out trying to catch the bride in the right light - I don't know that I can even imagine what his average workday is like.

Thanks for the link Barry. What an astonishing article. Mickey Grant seems like an astonishingly brave man.

Oh, and smart enough to bring along the right reading material...

"Fighting was intensifying at an alarming rate. As it turned out, I was too fried to read my copy of The AF100 Book by Barry Green as I traveled."

I just read this and started looking into the 14-42 Lumix lens that Mickey Grant used. Guess I'm deciding between this and the 14-140 Lumix. I'm shooting in rough conditions (though unlike Mickey, not dangerous conditions) and would love to have the longer focal length of the 14-140 without having to change lenses. Other than it being slower, what downside is there to the 14-140 when compared to the 14-42? Why would Mickey Grant have chosen the 14-42 over the 14-140? I don't need the auto focus or auto iris possibilities in the 14-140, it's just the longer focal length that is attractive. (Sorry if this is sort of inspired by topic but not quite on topic...)
